Why yes thank-you, I AM a Barbie….

Hello loves,

So today out of the blue, someone commented that I was a Barbie, I won’t ever know I don’t think if it was meant as a compliment or not! But I dang sure took it as one! It might have been the fact thqt I was a litle fancy’d up, complete with false eyelashes and (yikes!) semi-swanky shoes….& it got me to thinking about the definition of my sis’s and mines new book coming out soon….Care to sit for a while & hear what this lil blonde gal has to say on matters of being a Buckaroo Barbie?!

I take being a Barbie as a compliment.  Being a Barbie does NOT mean that you have to be vapid, dumb or not pay attention to the world around you (and that means EVERYTHING, current events, brandings…trucks merging into your lane…)  I say, let’s put the BUCKAROO BACK INTO BARBIE!  The Buckaroo Barbie is like ice-cream WITH sprinkles….the best of the best all rolled into one. She is the toughest, most hardworking gal there is-who can, at a moment’s notice after working all day in the branding trap, emerge as a sparkling goddess of perfection (wow, that’s a lot of perfect huh?)

It doesn’t mean that she owns the most expensive shoes, the best Tip’s saddle (although this is always a plus!) Or the brightest pink lipstick. But she carries herself like a lady who means business. A woman who is NOT to be toyed with, and something worth all the hype that surrounds her name.

Being a Buckaroo Barbie entails grace, elegance and tough hands and even tougher skin.  We are nearing Valentine’s Day, probably one of my favorite holidays next to Christmas (as we all know how cheesy I am!) simply because of the fact that I can get away with wearing all of my favorite colors at the same time, and no one will accuse me of wearing too much PINK & RED! I whole heartedly plan on wearing as much as I can this weekend, it’s the Klamath Winter Series Bronc ride on the 12th and I can’t wait to go climb on some bucking ponies and celebrate V-day with my French tipped fingers wrapped around a bronc rein!  I’m posting a good dose of my Buckaroo Barbie pictures from my crazy life at the moment until I have some fun action shots from the rodeo! Happy early Valentine’s Day and much love to you all my dears! <3

Love the juxtaposition of “Buckaroo” and “Barbie”. Two concepts that really aren’t so alien to each other. Both require strength, confidence, and grace.
Enjoying your blog … I hope your book will be a great success. ~M

    Hey there Adrian,
I just really enjoyed this blog that ya wrote!
I definitely admire that about you that you are truly a lady :). You can hang with the toughest of the tough and be out there throwin’ a rope or settin’ up there on top of a buckin’ horse, but at the same time come in after a long day’s work and show off your classy, elegant side. You are an amazing role model to every woman out there! God has blessed you with many gifts and talents and I’m excited to see what great things He has in store for you!

Adrian ~ I could not agree more with being a Buckaroo Barbie! I once had a fellow buckaroo ask me why I bothered fixing myself up just to do ranch work where very few people where around, but its not about doing it for others or putting on a show its just who I am. I ride, I rope, I get dirty I just do it pretty. Luv your music luv your blog it inspires me. Your a rare breed. Keep it coming! Stephanie
p.s. Looking forward to your new CD when will it be here?

Quick question~ when you mark out do you have to do it with only your hand on your bronc rein? Not holding onto your rope as well? What made you decide to try it? I think its awesome and totally inspiring! :)
