Hello loves!
SO I have been a horrible bad bad bad blogger for so long now and I’m so sorry! Life got just a little insane…but I’m back & really excited about all the awesome posts that are coming up! I think the perfect way to start back in it a Ranch Woman post…and definitely one of my favorite ladies so far!
Becky Prunty Lisle is to date probably one of the most amazing gals I have ever been so lucky to be able to spend time around and call my friend. When I was 14 and having an amazing time getting to live part time with my sister at her camp-job in Charleston NV, I was blessed to be introduced to an amazing family that really had a huge influence on me.
Myself admittedly being THE LEAST handy person in the world, it was terrifying being around this family of insanely talented and kind people…and even when I was always getting in the way while they were trying to get things done-they never treated me with anything but kindness that I hope one day I will be able to show someone. I hope you guys love this post about Becky as much as I have had posting it, if you get a chance you should go check out the Diamond A ranch horses for sale and see what awesome horses they make! http://www.pruntyhorses.com/
This is Becky’s story in her own words….cuss words included, not for any other reason than because that is a part of Becky and I love her for being who she is!
I was born August 13, 1977 in Elko. I was homeschooled until 4th grade, and went to school in Elko for 4th-7th. My parents got divorced and I finished school in Idaho…I graduated when I was 16. I went to CSI, majoring in equine studies for my AA, then I went to GBC in Elko and got my BA in elementary education. (Graduated with honors…what a nerd, huh?) I’m not teaching, and I actually don’t want to…it was just very important to my parents that Kyla and I got our college education, and after they died, I wanted to do it for them. Actually, being a stay-at-home mom and ranch wife is the greatest job in the world. :)
Our home ranch has always been the foundation of my whole existence…I feel really bad for people who aren’t grounded and don’t have deep roots somewhere. After my dad died in 1996, Kyla and I took over his cattle and horses. I met Rolly in the fall of 2000, when he came with a mutual friend of ours to work for my Grandma on the ranch for the winter. I was not in the market for a man at the time, but the little shit just swept me off my feet. ;) We got married August 6, 2005, had Tyler in 2007 and Wyatt in 2010. We spent our first married winter in Charleston, and it was a bad snow year…we fed with team all winter. In 2007 after we had two years of bad fires, Rolly and I sold our cows, but Kyla kept hers and moved them to CA (because that’s where happy cows come from…LOL). Rolly took a job with Simplot’s Rancho Grande because we needed to have health insurance that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. We moved back and forth to Idaho for several years (the cattle winter down there), and finally took a company house here at the RG. It is such a huge blessing to be here because we are close enough to the home ranch to help Grandma and run our horses out there, etc, and only 45 minutes from Elko. It’s really the perfect spot for us…I love it here. We’ve worked really hard to put together a nice bunch of horses, and as our boys get older, I want to get into the showing thing with Rolly. We market our horses through our website and have sold horses to private buyers in Mexico and even one to Spain!
